About the DataPortability Project
Data portability is the ability for people to reuse their data across interoperable applications. The DataPortability Project works to advance this vision by identifying, contextualizing and promoting efforts in the space.

Governance of the Project
There is a Steering Group elected by the Plenary. The Steering Group recognises task forces (short term deliverable's that are internal or external outputs) or Action Groups (delegated authority on a specific function).
Task Forces
A Task Force (link is to page of active one) is a group that is chartered by the Steering group with addressing a single problem or issue. It is assumed that a Task Force group has a limited life span and will disband once its work is complete.
Action Groups
DataPortability Action Groups (link is to page of active ones) are official standing committees, approved by the Steering Group, whose charters define specific, ongoing work to realize the DataPortability Project mission.
